Hale Kilinahe: The Journal

NOVEMBER 28, 1997

Married life is pretty cool. We had our first Thanksgiving and our first Lamaze class.

Lamaze was last Monday. Ryan seems to be even more into it than me. He's so enthusiastic and supportive. I hate to gush; it sounds so trite, but it's good to have him nearby when I'm feeling doubtful about this mommy thing, which is often. We were definitely the youngest couple there. It was just the happy, touchy-feely lovefest that I expected. All the couples were happy-kissy (most of all us, actually) and the teacher was just so happy to be there.

In the last week, I've come down with a nasty case of the flu. I had to take off from work just when I needed to be there the most. I work in a record and video store and bascially, there's three of us in charge of the video department. One of the other two is on vacation, and the boss is a raving nut job; therefore, I'm doing a little of everyone's job, so I have no time to do mine; which is essentially to keep track of all of the video accounts and call people who inexplicably have to keep "Debbie Does Dallas" for two weeks.

I wish I had time to write more. I can think of fourteen things I've done since my last entry but I can't remember all of them.

Oh yeah. Thanksgiving.

We had Thanksgiving at Ryan's aunt and uncle's house. I am a turkey junkie, and any excuse to fill up on turkey is good enough for me. All of the relatives seem to see Ryan and I differently since we've finally made this commitment. I feel truly a part of his family now.
