I keep coming back to Ryan Gosling's big, sad eyes.

We had a busy day yesterday. Went to the flea market.

Katie had to have shave ice (which is really glorified overpriced sno-cone here) so we wandered around looking for the stand.

I bought two shirts to sleep in and a lemon zester for two bucks.

Katie kept talking about race cars and mom figured she wanted to see toy race cars so we found some but Katie said she wanted to see the real thing so we decided to take her to the track.

There wasn't anyone on the track but we went inside and watched the movie and the pit crew demonstration. We got K a cheeseburger (5 bucks! 5 bucks for a cheeseburger! Damn!) and I got nachos and then we went home to put on our swimsuits.

The pool has been really freaking cold. I joked to mom that she must have moved to Canada and didn't tell me. We tried to swim, but we ended up just walking on the beach and collecting shells.

Zac is not walking yet, but he wants to. He's just not very confident. He stood for three seconds or so yesterday, and he cruises a bit, but no breakthroughs yet.

Katie got a dollar from the tooth fairy. She's scared to death of losing her other tooth in her sleep and swallowing it. It took her forever to go to sleep last night and she just kept saying "I can't sleep with a loose tooth." She finally did conk out, but at 11 or so, and Zac didn't go much earlier than she did.

He keeps falling asleep at dinnertime and so he can't get to sleep at bedtime. Have to try to keep him awake.

I miss home. I am glad I'm here, though. My dad is so happy to have Zac here. He calls him "little guy" and keeps saying that he's a good baby.
