"You'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that."

—Elton John, "Blessed"

KATIE turned two yesterday. We got her a cake and a Teletubbies balloon and celebrated at my mother-in-law's. We're having a party for her on Saturday at Chuck E. Cheese. Chuck E. Cheese always gives me a migraine, but she loves it so much.

Last year, we had only a small party with my parents and in-laws. It turned out to be a nice party, but it began as a bit of a nightmare because we thought we were getting one of their famous nifty tea-houses and it turned out to be the main dining room where there were two other birthday parties and a baby shower. A couple of guests from the other parties put their gifts on our gift table-right under a big sign with pictures of Katie.

(Wanna come, Mitchell? Call us.)

I said it a thousand times before, and I guess I'll say it again. I can't believe she's two. We've come so far.

As my husband may have written in IMR, I am a VH-1 junkie. I've watched every episode of Behind the Music. Except for the fake one with Garth Brooks. Somehow, I escaped that one. Anyway, all last week they did a countdown of the 100 best songs, 20 each day. A few things occurred to me while watching it.

  1. I wish Keith Richards would take the marbles out of his mouth.
  2. Everyone considers Kurt Cobain a visionary, but maybe he's just a very lucky dead junkie.
  3. Boy, Paul McCartney was sure cute!

Actually, I only watch VH-1 these days when K is napping. Otherwise, it's Blue's Clues and Sesame Street. Fortunately, she's slowly outgrowing the teletubbies. I hope the Pokemon craze is over before she's old enough to care.
